Putting money on a white Christmas

We're awaiting our next big freeze and possibly a white Christmas (normally unheard of in most of the UK).  The last dump of snow was great and remnants still remain here and there despite warmer temperatures.  No trains, planes or school.  It wasn't even worth clearing the driveway; there was no way the car would make it up the road without snow-chains, which are such a faff to put on and take off.  And there wasn't anywhere to go anyway!

Instead, 'working from home' via Blackberry (husband not me), 'working from home' via PC (me) and plenty of healthy walks in the deep snow in fruitless search of bread and milk (it's amazing what you can find in the cupboards to make do).  Plenty of sledging for the kids (i'm sure it's educational in some way; physics, geography?)

And yes, I am holding a box of chocolates, but they weren't for me - honest!

  1. I see they are Cadbury Heroes chocolates... a very good choice.

Back here in the colonies, our winter hasn't been a white as your's. Still more snow in Chicago than in year's past, but nothing like the UK has received. We just rush the stores for bread and milk before the snow hits. If there is snow in the Sahara desert, you'll be well prepared.

How many bold and blazen people have enlisted for the trek in 2012?

  2. p.s. Just a thought with those chocolates. If you carry them around enough you might able to get a sponsorship from Cadbury for the trek... although you may be subjected to eating them throughout the journey. The price to pay for charity.

  3. Hi DJPheo - great to hear from you! So far only 2 Nomads actually registered (including myself) but there's been plenty of interest so i hope there'll be a few more soon - we need about 25. I think i'd be willing to submit myself to eating Cadbury's all the way through if there was the possibility of additional sponsorship......!
